What is the Chinese Zodiac OS?

It is a client side Chinese zodiac and Four Pillars engine. You enter a birth date, optional birth time, birthplace, and timezone, and it reads your animal, element, four pillars, Day Master, hidden stems, Kua number, relationships, and year ahead.

How accurate is the calculation?

It is exact from 1900 to 2100 using included tables. The year uses the Chinese New Year boundary, the month uses solar terms, the day uses the Julian Day Number, and the hour uses the local two hour branch window.

Is my birth data sent anywhere?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser. It does not contact a server, does not look up your birthplace automatically, and does not store your data anywhere but your own device.

Do I need a birth time?

No. Without a birth time you get a complete three pillar reading. A birth time adds the fourth pillar, the hour, and reveals your secret animal. Enter the local civil time at the birthplace.

How this works

This engine anchors the year animal to Chinese New Year, uses solar terms for the month pillar, Julian Day Number for the day pillar, and two-hour branch windows for the hour pillar.

It is built for 1900 to 2100 using the included tables. Chinese New Year and LiChun can disagree for late January and early February births, so the report states its method clearly.
